This a day long course that covers the engineering designs of a conveyor system such that it addresses basic safety requirements. It should be presented by a design engineer familiar with conveyor systems or some with broad safety engineering experience who has made himself familiar with the material contained in the course. The course consists of • Three PowerPoint presentations covering the three sessions the course is broken into. • A hand book covering all the material covered • Questionnaires that are given during the presentations to assess the groups understanding of the material The course is based on compliance to the Australian Standard AS1755 but can be adapted to cover safety compliance in other jurisdictions. It represents both a practical and commonsense guide for all design engineers who have work to complete on materials handling systems.
